A New Way to Provide Feedback:
The Comment Map

In addition to the community survey, we want to know:

  • What type of future development you would like to see in different areas of the Borough (residential, mixed-use, green space, etc.).
  • Your ideas for new public facilities or improvements you would like for existing facilities.
  • Which areas need safety enhancements, bus stop locations, or utility upgrades.
Click on the map image or go here to show us where your priority locations are over the next 10 years.
Explore the map:
  1. Click and drag the map to move around. Use the “+” or “-” buttons in the lower right-hand corner to zoom in or out. If you’re a mobile user, simply pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out.
  2. To review others’ comments, click on the bubble icons on the map.
  3. Follow instructions on the map to submit a new comment.

The comment map will close on Friday, April 18th.

Purpose

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough is updating the 2020 Comprehensive Plan (last updated in 2009) to recognize and celebrate what we have accomplished, to address new challenges and opportunities for our community, and to articulate a community vision for the next 20 years. The goals, policies, and actions that will be included in the plan will help us achieve that vision.

The Comprehensive Plan will be a combination of long-term vision, goals, and practical strategies that will guide decisions about:

Land Use

Housing

Transportation

Infrastructure

Economic Development

Community Services

Environmental Stewardship

And More
